Deborah Lippmann Nail Necessities

The Stripper and Addicted to Speed may sound like all the necessary elements for a riveting episode of Cops, but I’m actually referring to something much less scandalous. They’re just two of Deborah Lippmann’s provocatively-named home manicure products, and I love them both.

The Stripper is about taking it off, and Addicted to Speed is about keeping it on.

Confused? Welcome to the world of Deborah Lippmann, celebrity manicurist. Deborah has ‘held hands,’ as she calls it, with many a celebrity, and in the process her namesake products have made her something of a celebrity as well.

Those enticing nail lacquers in a buffet of tempting tones are cause enough to make any girl swoon, but her gentle yet thorough nail polish remover, The Stripper, and her fast-drying topcoat, Addicted to Speed, really separate Deborah’s hand and nail products from any other line out there due to their superior formulations.

First, The Stripper. Boy does this stuff work. Acetone is balanced with moisturizing aloe vera and glycerin to produce an effective nail polish remover that is less drying and smells great thanks to lovely lavender essential oil. Plus, the flip-top mechanism makes messes a thing of the past. Genius in a bottle, $18.

Addicted to Speed is a fast-drying top coat that adds super shine and makes your manicure last longer. And I really am addicted to it. At $20 a pop, that’s one habit I can afford to maintain.

The brand new Deborah Lippmann nude-of-the-now nail color, Modern Love, $16, was all over the hands of models at Narciso Rodriguez and Badgley Mischka during recent fall runway shows. Modern Love is our premonition of pink–a dusty mauve that adds just a hint of color. Going nude has never felt so fabulous.

Deborah Lippmann products are available at Nordstrom stores or nordstrom.com.
