2013: A New Year and a New Kryolan Calendar
Every year the talented team at Kryolan Professional Makeup continue to amaze with their oversized 16 x 22-inch full-color calendars, and every year I can’t wait to get my hands on one to see their newest theme. This year, it’s famous women through history. The month of January is Aphrodite of Melos, below, Goddess of Love in Greek mythology.
Check out some of my favorite pictures from calendars past, plus a cool video at the end which shows the art in the making. It’s 13 minutes of Kryolan magic–you won’t believe your eyes!
In 2010 Kryolan celebrated beautiful landscapes and beautiful women simultaneously with a field of lavender, above…
A Japanese zen garden…
and a stark winter sky. In 2011, it was the year of famous painters, such as Edgar Degas and Gustav Klimt, below.
Wigs and accessories were fashioned from paper, as you can see on the Klimt model here.
And who could forget Salvador Dali?
A model wears a timeless tribute to Dali’s painting, The Persistence of Memory, above and below.
Pablo Picasso’s cubism is translated figuratively, on the model below.
And Vincent van Gogh’s post-impressionistic Starry Night, below, looks even crazier on a canvas of flesh.
Watch the fascinating transformation process in the video below. It’s a must-see!
Kryolan’s 2013 calendars are $15 and available in Kryolan boutiques.
