The Oscar Red Carpet Looks We Loved…And Madonna

Sharon Stone, wearing Christian Dior. She is a legend in my mind. That alabaster skin, those smoky eyes, the vixen red lips, classic, amazing bone structure. And that hair–it is hard to believe that a messy Beehive could be so sexy. Did you know this woman is 52? She is glam and femme fatale and screen siren all rolled into one. Work it Sharon.

Mila Kunis, wearing Elie Saab. Ethereal in that chiffon and lace lavender wonder, Mila looks like a regal princess from another time and place. The sheer diaphanous panels against her skin color work beautifully.

Mila was unique in that she wore a pastel color, which really makes her dark hair and eyes pop.

Hillary Swank, wearing Gucci Premiere Couture. The ostrich-feathered gown is fabulous. This is from Gucci’s couture collection. I would love to have seen a more feminine hair and makeup approach, even if it was just a red lip and some lashes. Hillary’s hair is a little severe; she needs a hair gem and some gentle waves to soften the look. With her long neck, some ropes of choker-length Tahitian pearls would have looked divine.

Jennifer Lawrence, wearing custom Calvin Klein. When you have a bod like this, anything looks great on you. But especially custom made Calvin Klein couture.

Jennifer is a natural beauty and with her hair long and loose in beachy waves, she can forgo complicated accessories in lieu of perfect skin, hair and makeup. What’s not to like?

Natalie Portman, wearing Rodarte, the costume designers from Black Swan. This look is so beautiful, the eggplant color so rich, the off-shoulder beaded detail, so perfect. Natalie is dressed appropriately for celebrating her pregnancy and she looks positively radiant.

Tiffany’s tassel earrings complete the look.

Anne Hathaway, wearing Valentino. This dress, in this color red, is dazzling on Anne’s porcelain skin. Anne keeps the makeup elegant with bright lips and short, red nails. A ‘simple’ Tiffany Lucida Star diamond necklace, diamond earrings and ring–a combo worth over $10 million–complete the look.

Helen Mirren, wearing Vivienne Westwood Couture. The gunmetal gown is accessorized with a satin Ferragamo clutch, Sergio Rossi heels and Cartier jewels. What can we say? At 65, she looks stunning. This woman has smartly dressed for her age and the occasion. Helen wears dark grey nail polish for a modern and polished look.

And how can we forget the divine Miss M? Madonna did not attend the Oscars, but with 14-year-old daughter Lourdes Leon she made an appearance at the Vanity Fair Oscars After Party held at the Sunset Tower Hotel in Hollywood. Madonna, 52, turned heads wearing Francesco Scognamiglio–a deeply-slit, sheer lacy and feathered gown with fishnet stockings and a fur vest. Finishing off her look were stacked black platform pumps and a white rose cut diamond ring by Loree Rodkin.
