A Clear Contender: Lucite

Well, clearly there is a new contender on the block. I’m lusting lucite! And with spring having sprung, nothing could look fresher. I’m totally feeling clear shoes like those above, styled in a Brielle ensemble.

I also love arms laden with lucite in the form of chunky clear bangles, and even the icy material, lucite, manifesting in other forms of jewelry and accessories! Check out these puffy lucite bracelets by Alexis Bittar, $295 each. Personally, I want to stack these bracelets up to my elbows, but the price tag, sadly, prohibits!

The greatest thing about lucite is its versatility. Lucite goes with any color outfit, for example, but I am feeling lucite with metallic dressing as a stand-in for gold or silver, for a slightly futuristic look. It’s easy to overdo with metallics, but lucite looks just right. Also loving lucite shoes with a perfect red dress or a shrunken little black or white summer mini, and with all pastels and brights that defy traditional footwear. In addition, lucite shoes are ideal for ensembles that make it challenging to match a manic print, such as a multi-colored floral. Clear shoes look fresh, ideal with capri denim, latex, metallic and lace pants.

With a gorgeous pedicure, you’re set for a day of whatever which can travel effortlessly into a night of mischief with a more dressy, albeit slightly fun, risqué look. Lucite shoes are perfectly edgy and so current!

“We all need a splash of bad taste,” stated the great fashion editor, Diana Vreeland. From stripper pole to staple, these shoes are just suggestive enough to provide that splash, in my humble opinion!

I love the look of these shoes and how they elongate the leg and emphasize beautiful feet. Heel high, or heel low, either way, you’re good to go! Lucite shoes are the clear contender in modern footwear. Don’t you want some immediately, if not sooner?
